Monday 6/27/22: 9.42 Miles

Done with a short 2-day workout week on the elliptical, done with the elliptical for the month of June, and done with the fifth and final Howard Keel movie for the month --  Texas Carnival ! Today's Noontime Workout: 9.42 miles on the elliptical in 41:19 minutes. No intervals; entire time at resistance level 6. Weights: Morning kettlebell 50 swings x 5 sets = 250 swings (8kg/17lb).  Second and final day of watching ' Texas Carnival ' from 1951, starring Esther Williams, Red Skelton, and Howard Keel. Today's segment included Howard Keel singing 'Deep in the Heart of Texas' with more dancing from Ann Miller! Friday 10/01/21: 3.03 Miles

Done with working out this week and another musical movie!  Today's Workout: 3.03 miles on the elliptical in 18:11 minutes; the first 13:35 minutes were doing intervals at resistance level 12 and the rest of the time was a steady pace at resistance level 13; today was the grand finale of the movie and it was a happy music-filled ending! 10 intervals using the Gym Boss Interval Timer ; 20 seconds high intensity/fast, followed by 1 minute at a cool-down/slower pace. Fifth and final day of watching 'Tea for Two' from 1950, starring Doris Day, Gordon MacRae and Gene Nelson.  IMDb Movie Outline: A socialite with aspirations of a career in show business bets her wealthy uncle $25,000 that she can say "no" to everything for two days straight, hoping winning will help her fulfill her dreams. Wednesday 12/08/21: 4.21 Miles

Done with Day 3 of working out and only two days to go! Today's Afternoon Workout: 4.21 miles on the elliptical in 21:41 minutes; five-minute warmup at resistance level 9, then 13:35 minutes doing intervals at resistance level 8, and the rest of the time was at resistance level 9. 10 intervals using the Gym Boss Interval Timer ; 20 seconds high intensity/fast, followed by 1 minute at a cool-down/slower pace.  Third day of watching 'Three Little Words' from 1950, starring Fred Astaire, Vera-Ellen, and Red Skelton. Today's movie segment included the songs 'Nevertheless' and 'All Alone Monday'! IMDb Movie Outline: The story of the successful Tin Pan Alley songwriting team of Bert Kalmar and Harry Ruby is told loosely and lightheartedly. Thursday 08/26/21: 4.05 Miles

Five nights of working out is done! Tonight's workout: 4.05 miles on the elliptical in 23:45 minutes. First 13:30 minutes: 10 intervals using the Gym Boss Interval Timer ; 20 seconds high intensity/fast, followed by 1 minute at a cool-down/slower pace. Last 10 minutes at a steady pace to finish the movie. Resistance Level 11 (medium high). Night 7 -- the final night -- of 'The Harvey Girls' from 1946, a comedy/musical/western starring Judy Garland, Ray Bolger, Angela Lansbury; some nice songs and some great stunts in the fight scene before the happy ending! IMDb Movie Outline: On a train trip West to become a mail-order bride, Susan Bradley (Judy Garland) meets a cheery crew of young women travelling out to open a "Harvey House" restaurant at a remote whistle-stop.
