Tonight I started watching 'Speedway' from 1968 with Elvis Presley, Bill Bixby, and Nancy Sinatra.

I did 7 miles on the elliptical in 40 minutes; medium high resistance the whole time, no intervals but a good push the last 10 minutes to get in two miles to finish at 7 miles.

Tonight was night 2 of the Elvis flick 'Speedway'.

I did 7.2 miles on the elliptical in 40 minutes at medium high resistance and steady pace (between 10 and 11mph).

Wednesday: 7/14/21 

Tonight I finished 'Speedway' and started another Elvis movie 'Live a Little, Love a Little', also directed by Norman Taurog and also from 1968.

I did 7.6 miles on the elliptical in 40 minutes with intervals:

Thursday: 7/15/21

Tonight was night 2 of the 1968 Elvis movie 'Live a Little, Love a Little'.

My workout ended on a high note with the song 'Little Less Conversation' which was re-released in 2002 in a remixed version by Dutch musician Tom Holkenborg, better known as Junkie XL, which is far superior to the movie version, but the movie version is still enjoyable:

I did 7.6 miles on the elliptical in 40 minutes with intervals:

- 5 minutes: medium high resistance at warm-up pace
- 5 minutes: low resistance at faster pace
- 5 minutes: medium high resistance at slower pace
- 5 minutes: low resistance at faster pace

Day 2 of working out this week is done, and I'm looking forward to seeing how the movie ends! Today's Morning Workout: 8.06 miles on the elliptical in 37:10 minutes. 5-minute warmup at resistance level 7; then two interval segments at resistance level 6 & 5 for 13:30 minutes each; rest of the time at level 5. 20 intervals using the Gym Boss Interval Timer ; 20 seconds high intensity/fast, followed by 1 minute at a cool-down/slower pace.  Second day of watching ' Follow the Fleet ' from 1936, starring Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, and Randolph Scott. Today's segment included Fred Astaire singing 'I'd Rather Lead a Band' along with a great solo dance performance! IMDb Movie Outline : A Navy sailor tries to rekindle a romance with the woman he loves while on liberty in San Francisco. #17 on my Miles of Movies 2022 list and my 5th Fred Astaire movie this year!

Tuesday 11/02/21: 3.98 Miles

Done with Day 2 of working out with Elvis!  Today's Workout: 3.98 miles on the elliptical in 20:22 minutes; the first 13:35 minutes were doing intervals at resistance level 10 and the rest of the time was a brisk pace at resistance level 11. 10 intervals using the Gym Boss Interval Timer ; 20 seconds high intensity/fast, followed by 1 minute at a cool-down/slower pace. Today's movie segment included the songs 'This is Living' and 'Riding the Rainbow'! Second day of watching 'Kid Galahad' from 1962, starring Elvis Presley, Gig Young, and Charles Bronson. IMDb Movie Outline: After completing his military service, Walter Gulick takes a job as a sparring partner at a gym, the owner of which sees potential in Walter as a professional fighter and takes him under his wing. Done with working out this week and another musical movie!  Today's Workout: 3.03 miles on the elliptical in 18:11 minutes; the first 13:35 minutes were doing intervals at resistance level 12 and the rest of the time was a steady pace at resistance level 13; today was the grand finale of the movie and it was a happy music-filled ending! 10 intervals using the Gym Boss Interval Timer ; 20 seconds high intensity/fast, followed by 1 minute at a cool-down/slower pace. Fifth and final day of watching 'Tea for Two' from 1950, starring Doris Day, Gordon MacRae and Gene Nelson.  IMDb Movie Outline: A socialite with aspirations of a career in show business bets her wealthy uncle $25,000 that she can say "no" to everything for two days straight, hoping winning will help her fulfill her dreams.
