Tuesday 1/25/22: 7.03 Miles

Done with day 1 of working out this last week of January with a final Elvis documentary -- Elvis: That's the Way It Is!

Today's Afternoon Workout:

  • 7.03 miles on the elliptical in 33:31 minutes.
    • Five-minute warmup at resistance level 9, then two interval segments at resistance level 8 and then level 7 for 13:30 minutes each, and the rest of the time was at resistance level 8.
      • 20 intervals using the Gym Boss Interval Timer; 20 seconds high intensity/fast, followed by 1 minute at a cool-down/slower pace. 
  • First day of watching 'Elvis: That's the Way It Is' from 1970, with archival footage of Elvis Presley!
    • Today's movie segment included the opening credits with the songs 'Mystery Train' and 'Tiger Man', plus lots of other music during behind-the-scenes rehearsal sessions!

Thursday 11/11/21: 4.43 Miles

Day 4 workout session is done and only one day to go!  Today's Workout: 4.43 miles on the elliptical in 22:11 minutes; the first 13:35 minutes were doing intervals at resistance level 10 and the rest of the time was a brisk pace at resistance level 9. 10 intervals using the Gym Boss Interval Timer ; 20 seconds high intensity/fast, followed by 1 minute at a cool-down/slower pace. Today's movie segment included the songs 'Barefoot Ballad' and 'Once is Enough'!  Fourth day of watching 'Kissin' Cousins' from 1964, starring Elvis Presley, Arthur O'Connell, Jack Albertson, and Pamela Austin. IMDb Movie Outline: An Army officer returns to the Smoky Mountains and tries to convince his kinfolk to allow the Army to build a missile site on their land. Week 6/12/22: 24.6 Miles

Weekly Stats: 6/12/22 - 6/18/22: Elliptical : 24.6 miles in 1hr, 50min (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday) 20 intervals using the Gym Boss Interval Timer (20sec high-intensity pace & 60sec recovery pace) Kettlebell : 1,160 swings (8kg/17lb)  Non-elliptical days:  200 swings Sunday, Monday, Friday, Saturday Elliptical days:  120 swings Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday Watched one movie: Show Boat (1951) #23 on my Miles of Movies 2022 list ! 

Tuesday 6/7/22: 8.36 Miles

Week 2 of June workouts have begun with this month's second Howard Keel musical -- Annie Get Your Gun ! Today's Noontime Workout: 8.36 miles on the elliptical in 36:44 minutes. No intervals; entire time at resistance level 6. Extra: Morning kettlebell , 40 swings x 3 sets = 120 swings (8kg/17lb).  First day of watching ' Annie Get Your Gun ' from 1950, starring Betty Hutton, Howard Keel, and Louis Calhern.  Today's segment included Betty Hutton singing 'You Can't Get a Man with a Gun'! IMDb Movie Outline : The story of the great sharpshooter Annie Oakley, who rose to fame while dealing with her love/professional rival, Frank Butler. #22 on my Miles of Movies 2022 list !
