Friday 10/01/21: 3.03 Miles

Done with working out this week and another musical movie! 

Today's Workout:

  • 3.03 miles on the elliptical in 18:11 minutes; the first 13:35 minutes were doing intervals at resistance level 12 and the rest of the time was a steady pace at resistance level 13; today was the grand finale of the movie and it was a happy music-filled ending!
    • 10 intervals using the Gym Boss Interval Timer; 20 seconds high intensity/fast, followed by 1 minute at a cool-down/slower pace.
  • Fifth and final day of watching 'Tea for Two' from 1950, starring Doris Day, Gordon MacRae and Gene Nelson. 
    • IMDb Movie Outline: A socialite with aspirations of a career in show business bets her wealthy uncle $25,000 that she can say "no" to everything for two days straight, hoping winning will help her fulfill her dreams.

The last week of working out in 2021 started today along with a new Fred Astaire movie -- Roberta from 1935! Another week of working out is over and another Elvis movie ends on a happy musical note!  Today's Workout: 3.03 miles on the elliptical in 14:01 minutes; the first 13:35 minutes were doing intervals at resistance level 8 and the rest of the time was a brisk pace at resistance level 8. 10 intervals using the Gym Boss Interval Timer ; 20 seconds high intensity/fast, followed by 1 minute at a cool-down/slower pace. Today's movie segment included the title song 'Kissin' Cousins' with two Elvises!  Fifth and final day of watching 'Kissin' Cousins' from 1964, starring Elvis Presley, Arthur O'Connell, Jack Albertson, and Pamela Austin. Friday May 14, 2021: 3.4 Miles

Today I finished 'The Iron Petticoat' from 1956 with Bob Hope and Katharine Hepburn; now I get the weekend to rest and figure out what to watch on Monday. I walked 3.4 miles on my treadmill in 40 minutes, with a break every 10 minutes for push-ups & squats totaling 40 of each. The third week of working out this month calls for a third Elvis movie -- G.I. Blues from 1960!  Today's Workout: 4.36 miles on the elliptical in 21:04 minutes (evening workout); the first 13:35 minutes were doing intervals at resistance level 9 and the rest of the time was a brisk pace at resistance level 10. 10 intervals using the Gym Boss Interval Timer ; 20 seconds high intensity/fast, followed by 1 minute at a cool-down/slower pace.  First day of watching 'G.I. Blues' from 1960, starring Elvis Presley, Juliet Prowse, and Robert Ivers. Today's movie segment included the title song 'G.I. Blues' and 'Doin' the Best I Can' which ends in a fun fight scene! Tuesday 1/25/22: 7.03 Miles

Done with day 1 of working out this last week of January with a final Elvis documentary -- Elvis: That's the Way It Is ! Today's Afternoon Workout: 7.03 miles on the elliptical in 33:31 minutes. Five-minute warmup at resistance level 9, then two interval segments at resistance level 8 and then level 7 for 13:30 minutes each, and the rest of the time was at resistance level 8. 20 intervals using the Gym Boss Interval Timer ; 20 seconds high intensity/fast, followed by 1 minute at a cool-down/slower pace.  First day of watching ' Elvis: That's the Way It Is ' from 1970, with archival footage of Elvis Presley!
