Tuesday 4/19/22: 7.62 Miles

I'm sticking with the Paris theme for week 3 of April workouts with another musical frolic from the 1950s -- Rich, Young and Pretty!

Today's Afternoon Workout:

  • 7.62 miles on the elliptical in 34:01 minutes.
    • 1-minute warmup at resistance level 7; then two interval segments at resistance level 6 & 5 for 13:30 minutes each; rest of the time at level 5.
      • 20 intervals using the Gym Boss Interval Timer; 20 seconds high intensity/fast, followed by 1 minute at a cool-down/slower pace. 
  • First day of watching 'Rich, Young and Pretty' from 1951, starring Jane Powell, Danielle Darrieux, and Wendell Corey. 
    • Today's segment included the first song of the movie 'Paris' sung by Jane Powell and Wendell Corey!
      • IMDb Movie Outline: Jim Stauton Rogers, a Texas rancher turned international diplomat, takes his young daughter, Elizabeth Rogers, on a trip to Paris. Day 2 of working out is done!  Today's Workout: 3.26 miles on the elliptical in 19:29 minutes; the first 13:30 minutes were doing intervals at resistance level 12 and the rest of the time was a steady pace at resistance level 13; today's movie segment included the title song 'Tea for Two'. 10 intervals using the Gym Boss Interval Timer ; 20 seconds high intensity/fast, followed by 1 minute at a cool-down/slower pace. Second day of watching 'Tea for Two' from 1950, starring Doris Day, Gordon MacRae and Gene Nelson.  IMDb Movie Outline: A socialite with aspirations of a career in show business bets her wealthy uncle $25,000 that she can say "no" to everything for two days straight, hoping winning will help her fulfill her dreams. Weekly Stats: 11/15/21 - 11/19/21: 21.58 miles on the elliptical in 1hr, 46min (Monday - Friday) Week 14 using the Gym Boss Interval Timer (20sec high-intensity pace & 60sec recovery pace)  Watched one movie ( GI Blues from 1960); #91 on my Miles of Movies 2021 IMDb list ! 

Wednesday 09/15/21: 2.82 Miles

Day 3 is done and only two more to go!  Today's Workout: 2.82 miles on the elliptical in 18:04 minutes; the first 13:30 minutes were doing intervals and the rest of the time was a brisk pace; today's movie segment included the song 'Put the Blame on Me' during a funny old-west segment (below)! 10 intervals using the Gym Boss Interval Timer ; 20 seconds high intensity/fast, followed by 1 minute at a cool-down/slower pace. Resistance Level 13 (medium high). Day 3 of watching 'Tickle Me' from 1965, starring Elvis Presley, Julie Adams, and Jocelyn Lane.  IMDb Movie Outline: A singing rodeo rider hires on at an expensive all-women dude ranch and beauty spa. Wednesday 1/26/22: 7.05 Miles

Day 2 of working out is over and it was lively! Today's Evening Workout: 7.05 miles on the elliptical in 33:47 minutes. Five-minute warmup at resistance level 9, then two interval segments at resistance level 8 and then level 7 for 13:30 minutes each, and the rest of the time was at resistance level 8. 20 intervals using the Gym Boss Interval Timer ; 20 seconds high intensity/fast, followed by 1 minute at a cool-down/slower pace.  Second day of watching ' Elvis: That's the Way It Is ' from 1970, with concert footage of Elvis Presley! Today's movie segment included 'Love Me Tender' with Elvis kissing girls in the audience, plus 'Just Pretend', and the segment ended on an upbeat note with 'Patch It Up'!
