Thursday 1/20/22: 4.33 Miles

Day 4 workout is done and so is the workout week!

Today's Afternoon Workout:

  • 4.33 miles on the elliptical in 21:58 minutes.
    • Eight-minute warmup at resistance level 8, then one interval segment at resistance level 7 for 13:30 minutes, and the rest of the time was at resistance level 8.
      • 10 intervals using the Gym Boss Interval Timer; 20 seconds high intensity/fast, followed by 1 minute at a cool-down/slower pace. 
  • Fourth and final day of watching 'This Is Elvis' from 1981, with archival footage of Elvis Presley!
    • Today's movie segment included a final performance of 'My Way' six weeks before Elvis's death along with a montage!
      • IMDb Movie Outline: The life and career of Elvis Presley are chronicled in home movies, concert footage, and dramatizations. Subjects include early performances, army service, Ed Sullivan Show appearance, marriage, 1968 comeback, health decline and death.

Done with day 2 of working out this week!  Today's Workout: 3 miles exact on the elliptical in 18:17 minutes; the first 13:30 minutes were doing intervals and the rest of the time was a brisk pace to get through more movie so I can finish it on Friday; only one song in today's segment: Dirty Dirty Feeling!  10 intervals using the Gym Boss Interval Timer ; 20 seconds high intensity/fast, followed by 1 minute at a cool-down/slower pace. Tuesday 7/19/22: 7.87 Miles

Done with Day 2 elliptical workout this week while enjoying ' Bikini Beach '! Today's Afternoon Workout: 7.87 miles on the elliptical in 33:13 minutes. 1-minute warmup at resistance level 6; then two interval segments at resistance levels 5 & 4 for 13:30 minutes each; rest of the time at level 4. 20 intervals using the Gym Boss Interval Timer ; 20 seconds high intensity/fast, followed by 1 minute at a cool-down/slower pace. Weights: Morning kettlebell 60 swings x 5 sets = 300 swings (8kg/17lb).  Second day of watching ' Bikini Beach ' from 1964, starring Frankie Avalon, Annette Funicello, and Don Rickles. Today's segment included Frankie and Annette singing the duet 'Because You're You'! IMDb Movie Outline : A millionaire sets out to prove his theory that his pet chimpanzee is as intelligent as the teenagers who hang out on the local beach, where he is intending to build a retirement home. #28 on my Miles of Movies 2022 list !

Tuesday 10/05/21: 3.16 Miles

Day 2 of working out is done! Today's Workout: 3.16 miles on the elliptical in 19:07 minutes; the first 13:35 minutes were doing intervals at resistance level 13 and the rest of the time was a steady pace at resistance level 14; today's movie segment included the song 'The Beast in Me' by Bonnie Pointer.  10 intervals using the Gym Boss Interval Timer ; 20 seconds high intensity/fast, followed by 1 minute at a cool-down/slower pace. Second day of watching 'Heavenly Bodies' from 1984, starring Cynthia Dale IMDb Movie Outline: A small "Dance-ercize" studio fights for its existence against the unscrupulous owner of a rival club. The conflict boils down to a "Dance Marathon" to settle the score. Learn more about the movie here on IMDb . 'Heavenly Bodies' is my third 1980s movie this year and  #85 on my Miles of Movies 2021 list !
